Announcing the full line-up for FIRST DRAFTS - tickets now on sale!
We're so delighted to announce the brilliant artists who will be taking part in our inaugural FIRST DRAFTS at New Diorama in London on September 15th!
FIRST DRAFTS is an experiment in collective curating - the first of a series of three events that will be organised by PROJEKT EUROPA’s artistic advisory board.
The artists joining us on September 15th are:
Emilia Nurmukhamet & Dear Annie, Néa Ishana Ranaganathan, Tsoi Huen Wong & Christiano Mere, Jana Aizupe, Divija Melally & Saili Katebe and Moyra Silva & Carolina Rieckhof!
Each edition of FIRST DRAFTS will be framed by a quote, offering a thematic lens for artists to respond to. The first quote is ‘This Is How An Artist Resists’- we’re interested in exploring the idea of how we as artists experience, perceive and express resistance, and we have encouraged the selected artists to respond freely to this quote.
FIRST DRAFTS is a unique snapshot of the extraordinary creativity and diversity of migrant performance in the UK - don’t miss your chance to be part of this vital conversation!
For Refugee Week 2024, we are supporting ‘our home’ - a photography and writing project facilitated by Araqa Collective, a grassroots nonprofit initiative in Lebanon’s Bekaa valley which organises creative workshops for Syrian and Palestinian refugees and Lebanese youth.
Together with Ark Cliftonville we are presenting the work of 19 artists in an exhibition of images, texts and voices giving a unique and powerful insight into the lives of displaced and young people living in Lebanon today.
The work will be on display at Ark Cliftonville in Margate 18-23rd June and is free to visit.
Alongside the physical exhibition, we will also be sharing the artists’ work on social media throughout the week.

This is a space where migrant artists and creatives can express themselves, build relationships, reflect on their experiences and aspirations, and collaborate on artistic projects. It is a dynamic space that responds to the evolving needs and desires of the participants, who are invited to shape it according to their preferences. It is also a space for communal conversation, where we can discuss not only our professional challenges and achievements, but also our personal joys and struggles as human beings.
This is a bi-monthly session with subsequent dates 28 April, 28 July, 29th Sep and 30th Nov.
Ubuntu is an ancient African word meaning 'humanity to others'. It is often described as reminding us that 'I am what I am because of who we all are'.
